Frequently Asked Questions

  • Iris Global Harvest School is a full-time 8 weeks Spirit-filled hands-on missions school that trains, equips and sends out radical lovers of Jesus to the ends of the earth. It is also a requirement for serving long term in any Iris Global locations.

  • Around 12 years ago, Rudy and Baoyan attended a missions training school run by Iris Global called the Harvest School for about six months in Mozambique. Their lives were changed forever. Living among the poorest of the poor, they witnessed love that restores and hope that rebuilds. This season birthed a conviction that creativity and compassion can come together to meet the vast needs of the marginalized and vulnerable, bringing dignity and transformation in practical ways across the world.

Iris Living Oaks Singapore was born as a platform to respond to the world’s brokenness through creativity, compassion, and action. We are a missions and discipleship movement raising and sending people to bring God’s love to cities, war zones, and forgotten places. Our heart is to stop for the one, love the poor, and multiply leaders who carry God’s presence

  • Harvest School is an 8-week journey of spiritual growth and hands-on mission experience. You’ll become part of a close-knit community of Jesus followers where worship, teaching, and daily life flow naturally. Through Scripture, prayer, shared rhythms, and practical outreach, you’ll learn to live out your faith by loving the people right in front of you.

    School Structure

This is a travelling school that begins with 3 weeks of teaching and hands-on local outreach among indigenous rural communities in Malaysia, focusing on Iris Core Values, led by practitioners actively serving in the field. This is followed by 12 days serving regionally, before returning to Singapore for reflection, further local outreach among marginalised groups, and commissioning. There’s also an optional 2-week extended outreach serving communities beyond the region.

    Daily Rhythm

Each day carries a rhythm rather than a rigid schedule. Mornings begin by turning our hearts toward the Lord through personal devotion and prayer. Days are shaped by teaching, worship and ministry, community group time, and local outreach. Along the way, you’ll receive one-on-one mentorship from your community leader, who will walk closely with you in encouragement, care, and spiritual growth throughout the school.

  • The school is bilingual in English and Mandarin, welcoming believers from diverse backgrounds. We are passionate about equipping the Mandarin-speaking community and English speakers who share a heart for Asia and beyond.

  • Iris Global is a Christian missionary organization led by Heidi and Rolland Baker, driven by God’s love and committed to serving the poor and vulnerable. Originating in Mozambique, Iris Global has expanded worldwide with a core message of love and “stopping for the one” in need.

The Bakers, founders of Iris Global, have been at the forefront of a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Mozambique and southeastern Africa. Over the past 30 years, their ministry has seen thousands come to Jesus, more than 10,000 churches planted, and thousands of children adopted. Their vision helped transform Mozambique into a predominantly Christian nation.

  • We welcome anyone with a genuine desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus and a heart for missions. Participants should be willing to commit fully to these 8 weeks, including outreach activities and cross-cultural engagement. Prior mission experience is not required.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a basic level of English or Mandarin proficiency to participate in the bilingual program. A willingness to live simply and serve in challenging environments is essential.
